I spent 10 years as a Registered Environmental Health Specialist conducting inspections across San Bernardino County. I walked into hundreds of restaurants, food facilities, pools, tattoo studios, and housing properties — and I saw the same preventable problems over and over.
Most of the business owners I encountered were hardworking people who genuinely cared about their customers. They just didn’t know what they didn’t know. A little guidance early on would have made all the difference.
That realization is what pushed me to start Beyond the Clipboard. My goal isn’t to catch people doing things wrong — it’s to help them get it right before it ever becomes a problem.
